Lost in Vide-o-land. [Spanish 80s]

Here is a list of semi-mainstream music I like [Spanish 80's and some early 90's]. I'd like more people to be more fond of the Spanish language. Thus I'm sharing videos with whomever seems to stumble upon my practically-invisible-blog-spec.

Los Prisioneros - Tren al Sur [Rock en Español, New-Wave] Great vocals, music, I wish there was more Spanish New-Wave, a.k.a. Rock en Español like this]. The lyrics paint a picture about being far from home, taking a Train to the South, long-awaiting the nostalgic return .

UPA! - Ella Llora [Rock en Español, New-Wave, Pop] Here's an artsy new-romantic well-composed song, even though the lyrics set an atmospheric mood for a lady who cries desperately for losing everything and being utterly alone in the world.

Magazine 60 - Don Quichotte [Italo-disco] Italo does not often make much sense, here we have a man calling, asking for Don Quixote de la Mancha; whom continues his fight, with the imaginary foes as mentioned in the tome .

Los Iniciados - La Marca de Anubis [Minimal-electronics, Wave] Aviador Dro members dressed in cult-like cloaks singing about Egyptian mythology god Anubis mark being seen in different places, an experimental low-quality video, entertaining nonetheless .

Caifanes - Perdí mi Ojo de Venado [live] [Rock en Español, New-Wave]. I wish I'd find the 'videoclip' for this song. It'd sound SO much better, but we'll have to settle for this in the meantime.

I recommend you get the original song version, this live one is of very bad quality, but still great nonetheless.

Los Héroes del Silencio - Entre Dos Tierras [Rock en Español, New-Wave] This song's lyrics speak about losing faith being smothered in between two lands, and not being able to breathe.

Hombres G - Devuélveme a Mi Chica [Rock en Español, New-Wave, Pop] A girl left her boyfriend, and he's trying to get her back. Silly lyrics too.. I feel silly just thinking about it.

Tino Casal - Champú de Huevo [New-Wave, Pop] A girl leaves her boyfriend for another who he describes as a tall Frankenstein. Also criticizes her sudden way of changing completely [her dye, her clothes, her look in general]. The title of this song "Champú de Huevo" directly translates to Egg Shampoo.

Maldita Vecindad - Pachuco [Punk-Wave, Ska, Reggae] A great sounding song. Talks about people being outraged by this 'punk-wave' that erupted, leaving traditionalism a thing of the past.

Mana - Me Vale [Rock en Español, Ska-Reggae, Pop] A great ska-influenced rock anthem about being yourself. Ignoring everyone's ignorance and negative opinions about your life or personality. Basically saying "I don't give a shit" in a sarcastic-pop manner.

Maná - Oyé Mi Amor [Rock en Español, Pop] Here Maná plays/sings about wanting a girl, telling her to leaves her"'deprives, boring" man for him. Romantic and nothing less. Well-composed, the synthesizer adds a great touch.

Alejandra Guzmán - Ten Cuidado Con El Corazón [Rock en Español, Pop-Ballad] Every tough chick has its sad, sad song. Here is Alejandra Guzmán singing her heart out to warn you of the horrible material-lives people lead . A total rock ballad with an attitude!

Gloria Trevi - Pelo Suelto [Rock en Español, Pop-Rock] Gloria Trevi, notorious for being a rebellious chick. Here she sings about being herself and choosing to wear her hair down and tangled.

Flea Market Weekend Treasures

I like to shop for a lot of different 'used' things. I believe everything has a story to tell.

This Sunday I headed down to a flea-market in Valencia I bought a working Atari 2600 with over 12 games in their original box with the 2600 manuals/ads. I also bought a "Music Maker" lap harp and a Yamaha Digital Drum Machine, both are nothing rare but they are something I did not previously own.

The Hawaiian Pups

The Hawaiian Pups, My New Yorker friends! Klett, Terelle, and the lovely Shanahan.

The Hawaiian Pups were an obscure synth-wave group hailing from NYC in the 1980's. Signed by Portrait Records/CBS. Recorded Split Second Precision at Penny Lane studios, and recorded an unreleased music video, which is thought to be a legend, now uncovered, whom I saw with my own eyes at HotHead Studios] video for Young Boys.

Their sound is often quirky and attractive. Sound engineer masters and artists of all trades.

They are highly recommended to fellow collectors of one-of-a-kind bands that leave your mouth drooling for more.

Ironically, they still seem as unique as can be.

Society Decays.

[Theoretically-speaking]: Why does everything degrade when technology improves?
Most humans I've seen in action [walking, talking, etc] seem very low to me. I am no one to judge, but I do it anyway [because I am an individual with a mind that analyzes what it sees]. Music was much better 25+ years ago, fashion was sure as hell better than it is in the present day. People dress very ugly nowdays. They think everything is a walk in the park. They now go to restaurants in their t-shirts wearing jeans and sneakers. I am not very old, but this is like garage cleaning clothes..

As each day passes by, more trees are cut, less oxygen for a growing population problem. Animal mutations, contamination in the water, melting ice rising sea level, threatening a majorly catatonic population. Higher exposure to ultra-violet rays. Contamination in space. Breathing fumes of chemicals and other carcinogens. Endangered wild-life. "Encouraging" honest trust-worthy politicians.

Evergrowing xenophobia toward a darker kin. Even though humans will one day be the same colour due to the ozone damage. Why must a human deny the right for other humans to live in their country exist? A country must worry about its internal issues then external; NOT external then internal. This is how bridges collapse. A malfunction in the system.

Sneaky people. They steal from you to rebuild 'schools, highways, etc', BUT they only build in the wealthier areas. [Oh sure! The poor can die, but the rich MUST continue to prosper.]

Bourgeoise VS. Proletariat.

Hunting VS. Hunted.

Corporations replace kingdoms.

Street-cleaner-machines never show up on time, they rather show up on days not on schedule.

I NEVER litter.. Yet I cannot understand why there are certain things slums have. Trash with contaminated water running through it and roadkill on the streets while W.A.S.P.s continue to enjoy their lemonade in their Summer Home in 'Another World'.

Is life really this bad?

Poor areas continue to depreciate as suburban homes keep being constructed in mountains away from what they call 'filth'. Gated communities lock themselves up to protect themselves from the less fortunate when evil seeps from underneath the door crack. Your marble floors will not stop the decay of the world.

Wave bye-bye to 'traditionalism'.

I was living on the nor-eastern coast of the united states for nearly a year, it was a nice experience. Overall it was a great diverse area rich with culture. Upon my stay I visited a local Athenian-style Greek Restaurant and had patates tiganites [greek-fries], tiropita [cheese pie] with fine wine lemonade.

Another note, there are countless family-owned pizza joints on almost every major road. Fine thin-wide slices of pizza with tasty tomatoe sauce and cheesy-mozzarella cheese.

Plenty of Portuguese and Spanish restaurants. At a very low price, I might add.

They have some of the cutest bakeries I've seen anywhere on the U.S. that serve fine European goodies. La Bonbonniere's Cookie Jar I recommend any chocolate lovers, Classic New York Black and White Cookies.

Russo's in Ridgewood, Queens "Italian deli" cannolis and traditional gelato. Yum. $8/Lbs. [cookies]

Pulaski Meats is a Polish market with Northern European meat, chocolate, candy, yogurt, seasoning, etcetera. Try the pizza chips while you're at it.. :-)

The Eastern architecture is traditional in nature. It varies from Art-Deco to Colonialism to Edwardian to Victorian. Even in the slums of a Nor-Eastern city you shall find precious architecture. The brown-stones have a traditional american look and feel the stoops add more to the value.

On a more 'immature' note, I am almost 22 and I moved back in to my mother's house for college. It hasn't been a week since I've been back and already I sense the negativity of emotions toward my presence. My mother publicly humiliates me, when all I ask for is, respect. It is her incredibly sarcastic form of behaving that really makes me grind my teeth.

It's been four days since I registered for this music-blog site. I like a lot of the early electronic music I've found listed. Thanks to everyone who has an exquisite music taste.

About me. I was born in MX. My heritage: Portuguese, Spanish, Italian.
I like a great choice of music. I rather listen to music than watch movies, play games, shop, etcetera. I speak, write, and read in three languages. I am hoping to learn more languages as time goes on and I travel on my free time.
